EPOXY & POLYASPARTIC FLOORING SYSTEMS

Epoxy flooring.
Layer by layer.

There’s more to a coating than its color. Understand how preparation, resin, decorative material, and a finish coat come together for your space.

START WITH YOUR SPACE

The right combination matters.

Epoxy, polyaspartic, flake, and quartz describe different parts of the decision. Compare the whole proposed system, from the slab to the surface.

01

Prepared concrete

Surface condition and the right preparation provide the starting point.

02

Resin layers

The named primer and base coat must suit the substrate and overall specification.

03

Decorative material

Flake or quartz adds the chosen appearance and helps define the texture.

04

Finish coat

The exact topcoat, care, and service requirements complete the plan.

THE FOUNDATION OF A GOOD RESULT

Know what’s going onto your floor.

An epoxy base and a polyaspartic topcoat can be parts of the same floor. The product names, layer sequence, and application conditions tell you more than a single material label.

  • Start with the slab

Review moisture, old coatings, oil, repairs, and the preparation required.

  • Use current product information

Simiron documentation guides applicable installation and performance requirements.

  • Confirm the cure milestones

Working time, recoat time, walking, and full service are different stages.

What shapes the estimate?
LET’S TALK IT THROUGH304-253-4731
Epoxy and polyaspartic are material families.

An epoxy base and a polyaspartic topcoat can be parts of the same floor. The exact product names and layer sequence tell you more than a single material label. Ask how the selected system addresses your slab, traffic, sunlight, and expected spills.

Flake and quartz describe decorative aggregate options.

Flake chips and colored quartz create different visual textures. The surrounding resin layers, installation method, and final texture also affect the completed floor. A color sample does not establish chemical resistance, cure time, or suitability for a particular room.

Preparation is part of the system.

The substrate needs an appropriate profile and condition for the selected products. Existing coatings, oil, cracks, and moisture concerns must be considered before installation. A new topcoat cannot be assumed to solve a failing underlying layer.

Check product-specific instructions.

Simiron is our primary manufacturer reference for applicable product information. Product data sheets distinguish preparation, application conditions, limitations, and curing. Confirm the exact product and cure-speed variant with your project proposal.

Use manufacturer documents to evaluate the proposed system; no single data sheet proves that every combination or substrate is suitable.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Is polyaspartic always better than epoxy?

The best fit depends on the role of each layer, substrate conditions, exposure, and installation requirements. Compare complete specifications rather than a one-word product category.

Does a faster cure mean I can use the floor immediately?

No. Working time, recoat time, foot traffic, and full service are different milestones. Follow the instructions for the exact system.

Compare flooring system requirements

The finish, preparation and coating layers should match the use of the floor.
